I have a totally different take on preps. I think preps are those ppl that think they are pretty much better than everyone else. Most of these kids are well off and have whatever they want. They also have the attitudes to go with it.

A true prep does NOT shop at abercrombie. A prep will wear ralph lauren and lacoste. They go to a private school and go to the country club.

I wouldn't always define them by clothing, because I sometimes wear the same clothes (keep getting them for Christmas), and I would label myself as a nerd. I label them by (in order): -mannerism (snobbish, judgmental, ignorant, etc.) -social status (typically many friends) -background (rich/upper-middle class) -clothing preference (Aeropostale, Abercrombie, Hollister, etc) -to be even more stereotypical--music, like soft rock, country or pop. I really only label people by how they act. I don't take clothing into account because I know many people who wear such clothing that act different from the expected "norm". Likewise, I know people who dress more "hip", "goth", or "punk" than "preps" and still act just as snobbish as the "prep". I'm done with this rant. Screw high school and its many cliques.

a preppy person isn't afraid to be who they are. do nott get the impression that preppy people are like really smart. cause they're not. they have tonsss of friends and have good grades. if anyone has said abercrombie as preppy...don't listen to them. haha.....seriously though
