I just read that they are removing the snickers commercial that aired during the super bowl from T.V. They are doing this because a gay rights group(GLADD) whined about "how it was not politcally correct" and that "they were offended". You are gay, that in itself is not "politally correct". Just learn to accept humor. My question is why do these select gay people have this constant feeling of being "picked on" Why dont they just lighten up a little bit, it was funny.

I haven't seen the ad so I cant comment on it but I agree that some of us gays need to lighten up a bit. No, we shouldn't have to put up with hate but is there anything wrong about laughing at ourselves at times? When people joke around, it doesn't neccessarily mean that there is hate associated with it each time. I've noticed some of the people here are quite militant and need to add a little humor to their lives. Yes, we do have some enemies but not EVERYONE is out to get us.

GLAAD was offended by an online version of the commercial with the one guy slamming the hood of the car on the other guys head. They were not offended by the other versions or the version that was aired during the Super Bowl. Instead of pulling the one ad showing someone perceived to be gay being beaten, Snickers chose to remove all of the ads. I agree that the one that aired during the Super Bowl was funny, and I don't know why Snickers overreacted by pulling all of the ads instead of only pulling the offensive one.

Part of me agrees with you, but on the other hand if you showed a black woman spending her last welfare dollar on a Snicker's bar that would be considered rascist. Or if you had a family of 12 Mexicans (you know how those Mexicans breed) splitting a Snicker's bar into 12 pieces that would be rascist too.

Or what if you had a woman (you know how those women love to bake ****) working all day to make the perfect meal and when the family sat down to eat all the food was made out of Snicker's bars. haha, that would be capitol! A Snicker's Turkey with some Snicker's salad and some Snicker's Milkshakes. I should have been a Marketing Agent!

A. I didn't see the commercial, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Sorry.

B. How is being gay not "politically correct?" Is being straight also not "politically correct?"

C. They ARE always being picked on. Just read some of the answers they get on here. Most are just downright cruel.

GLADD is like the U.S. government, if it is forefront in the news they jump on it. Being gay or straight does not constitute an all out war. I wish we could say the same about what is going on over in Iraq. Funny is funny, some people like vanilla and some like strawberry. There is no way to please all people all of the time. This is another way to get on T.V., along with PETA, the KKK, and any group who wants attention.
I guess I am the right winged gay man, and am sure that I will be called a politically incorrect homosexual.

I'm lesbian and I was watching it with my family which included little kids, I thought it was funny yet inappropriate for kids. I would feel the same if it were 2 hot sexy model body beautiful woman or a guy and girl. But everyone pushes the envelope, it was funny and I knew it would only be a matter of time before someone whines about it

and what "select gay people" are you talking about? the ones who believe in equal rights for gay people? and why is it so bad to believe in equal rights for a group of people who feel like outsiders in a society that doesnt completely understand nor accept the GLBT community???? it was just how they felt, you cant blame them for feeling that way because many do feel alienated. and next time be a little more considerate next time you call a group of people "not politically correct" because you sound like an a**hole saying that.

I saw the commercial you are referring to. I was not offended. I dont walk around with my feelings on my sleeve. Just like the Clay Aiken and Kelly Ripa episode. I like Rosie, but she was rediculous. If I was Kelly I would have done the same thing. I cannot stand ANYBODY putting their hands near my face. It is disgusting. My sexual preference will always be a topic of controversy. I dont care. I live my life for me. I dont live it by societys standards. There are several things alot of heterosexuals do that I think are wrong, but as long as they leave me alone, I dont give a damn.

It's quite obvious from your question that you are heterosexual. Seeing as you're handicapped with that affliction, it's no use trying to explain defamation, harassment, and cruel humor to someone of your orientation.

How dare you say that I, as a gay man, am not "politally correct" [sic]? How many times have you stood up for your rights? How many times have you taken your Constitutional right to protest? How many political figures have you lobbied for cleaner air, lower taxes, funds for the needy/poor/sick, and to end this war in Iraq?

Answer those questions, sweetheart, and we'll talk politically correct.

I thought the commercial was funny, too.

Not all gay people thought it was out of line.

Your comment that being gay is not politically correct is ridiculous.

YOU obviously are not politically correct.....or correct in anything....so why don't YOU lighten up!
What a flippin' Drama Queen you are!!!!
