Add a can of Coke a Cola to your load it gets rid of grease and odor. Vinegar might work but I'm not to sure it is a hard odor to get rid of. I use Coke in my hubbys work clothes and it get all the grease and smell out and he is a mechanic.
Good luck.

The safest way is to leave them hanging outside for a few days .Petrol fumes are notoriously difficult to rid of.Dont use the machine as a static spark may ignite the gases in the drum .Remenber the fumes will travel aroun the machine.

Well I would use " BAKING SODA " fill the tub up ( HOT/WARM )and then pour in a box and let it soak, agitate it alittle then let it soak for a few hours, along with your clothes .....then let it all run thru ,
you might consider going to the regular HARDWARE STORE, they usually have all kinds of goodies......
If that doesn't do the trick....

Try putting a cupfull of white vinegar into the drawer and set it to rinse. According to my vinegar book it does say vinegar will get rid of the smell of diesel although I have not needed to try it as yet. Hope it works!
