yes they are scum, dirt bags and loosers. they should be associated with drug users/abusers and the government should lock them up when caught. yes it is your choice not to use and if you choose to, then deal with the repercussions. people who think that drug abuse is not harmful are crazy. you want to legally do your dope, move to amsterdam!

Drug addicts are not bad people! They have found something to mask the pain or anger caused to them by the issues in their life. Sure we should learn to deal with life without drugs, but that is way more difficult than it sounds. Think about it people smoke cigarettes, and drink. Those things are used for the same purpose but dont get near such a rise out of people as drugs do because they are legal. It should be everyones choice whether or no they want to put a substance like cocaine or marijuana or any other drug into thri body, and the government shouldnt step in until a real crime has been committed. For instance robbing a gas station so you can buy more coke, would be grounds for incarceration. Some people may say there is no such thing as a responsible drug user but I dont think that is true. Sure the resposible drug users are few and far between but I do think they exsist. There are plenty of people who come home from work every night and light up a joint in the comfort and safety of their own homes to unwind after a long day. They dont drive, they dont rob people to buy more pot, they just sit back and relax. Tell me what is so harmful about that. With coke it may be different but not entirely. I have known plenty of people who have done coke, in a safe place with friends, they didnt drive or endanger or hurt anyone else, and they didnt get the money for the drug illegally. We are wasting lots of time and money filling up our prisons with drug dealers and users while we let sex offenders off with a slap on the wrist and some probation time, it is ridiculous and it disgusts me, and the worst part of it all is, we see it everyday.

George W Bush used to use cocaine, and lots of people think he is great. I think it depends on the person, most people get messed up by it and it ruins their lives, but some can do it every now and then and are fine upstanding people.

If you mean plain old cocaine - it's highly over rated.
The high doesn't last long enough for anyone to get into
trouble with. I'm sure the government is quite aware of this,
but they'll never admit it.

i think they, like many, have a disease called addiction that they most likely inherited from their parents that is messing up their brain and making them feel like they HAVE to have the drug or something horrible will happen. if it is a first offense, i think drug abusers should get mandated long-term rehab instead of a sentence (unless there's a serious crime such as murder involved) and if they keep doing it they get even more rehab and progressively longer sentences.

Personally I think the government has few if any rights concerning what someone does behind closed doors, ie., within thier own respective houses.

I say we should let people do what they want. You only live once and should be able to live how you want and make your own choices.
