Republicans need to have there memory checked. It was a big issue in the 2004 election. Right-wingers were screaming that if gays were allowed to marry that next people would be able to marry dogs.

maybe it's not fair to lump all republicans together. better to say the far right weirdo's. I work with a lady that said the only reason why she wasn't voting Kerry was because he was for gay marriage. And you are correct that republicans have a limited memory when it comes to proving things to them.

how do we "bash" gay people? i will sate that my beliefs do not condone homosexuality, and see it as a sin. i cannot speak for other republicans. i would not try to.
your question is about as dumb as me asking "why is it okay for democrats to bash lawbreakers, but barney frank gets reelected after being caught paying for the services of a male prostitute, and letting that prostitute operate an illegal business out of his home?"

Who is bashing gay people? What I would like to know is ,why McGreevey never came out? Where was his support from fellow dems? Do you think he wasn't made into a joke in NJ,by dems also? You really like to think dems are soooo tolerant,but they aren't.

Because they are republicans and that is what they do best. Character assassination is probably the number one thing that repuglicans do best, even better then taking from the poor and middle class and giving to the rich.
