During my wedding planning, I have had a hard time finding exactly what I have been looking for, whether the items were too highly priced or just not the style or look that I had envisioned.

Very frustrating...

SO, I decided to make some of the items for our wedding and it is all turning out great!

I am thinking about starting my own business making wedding items for a low price. This business would offer hand-made, creative, personalized items for your wedding, such as guest books, pen holders, ring pillows, flower girl baskets, and other items that are personalized expecially for your wedding with your wedding colors and style in mind.

You would be able to see samples of all of the different items and choose from a wide variety of colors, styles, and looks.

I am just curious to see if there would be enough interest in this type of business before I get started. I will be posting on several websites.

Thanks in advance for your opinion!
Happy Wedding Planning!

when our daughter was married we used a local lady to do a few things, and she did a very nice job.
everything was handmade especially for 'our' wedding and it worked out very well.
so yes, i would do it again!
i think the personal touch is much nicer than storebought goods and i think it shows nicely.
we had her do beautiful little hankies, and 'brag' books, for the mother of the groom, and the grandmothers, as well as myself. both the hankies, and brag books, were embroidered with the kid's names, wedding date, and flowers. she also did the ring bearers pillow with the same embroidered names, date and flowers.
anyway good luck, i think its a great way to make a wedding more romantic and charming!

Yes I would!
but... it won't be easy
first you have to see a banker about a small business loan
then you have to find a place not too far off the main road
then you have to find a supplier...not buy your stuff at Wall mart
You will have to have you business insured to get a
business license...what if the people HATE what you made??
(of course they won't !!)
What kind of guarantee will you have?

Maybe this is why there are so many business on line?
But we have to know where to go...
It needs to be a house hold word type of on-line address.
I might be full of Bologna.... but they are my thots!! Good luck!
You will do great I am sure
what do you think of silver and saphire for a December wedding?
Is it over done?

Depending on the area where you live, it could be a great idea. Word of mouth is key though, especially if you are selling on the internet. Sounds like an interesting business idea but it could snowball quickly leaving you overworked and your quality will suffer.

I wouldnt but I'm sure there are others that would. I've heard of many companies that do this very thing so it doesnt seem like a very demanding idea but I've been wrong once or twice.
