During my wedding planning, I have had a hard time finding exactly what I have been looking for, whether the items were too highly priced or just not the style or look that I had envisioned.

Very frustrating...

SO, I decided to make some of the items for our wedding and it is all turning out great!

I am thinking about starting my own business making wedding items for a low price. This business would offer hand-made, creative, personalized items for your wedding, such as guest books, pen holders, ring pillows, flower girl baskets, and other items that are personalized expecially for your wedding with your wedding colors and style in mind.

You would be able to see samples of all of the different items and choose from a wide variety of colors, styles, and looks.

I am just curious to see if there would be enough interest in this type of business before I get started. I will be posting on several websites.

Thanks in advance for your opinion!
Happy Wedding Planning!

Sure, especially with sites like Ebay to market your items on. That's always the hardest part of a speciallity type item is getting the info out to potential buyers.

As far as local sales if you live near or in a good size town or city, then try and network with other folks in the wedding biz like planners or photographers, etc.

Good Luck!

THAT IS A GOOD IDEA...AND THINKING ABOUT IT, I THOUGHT I CAME ACROSS SOMETHING LIKE THAT LAST YEAR WHEN I WAS PLANNING MY WEDDING. I CAN'T REMEMBER NOW. I ALSO MADE A LOT OF MY OWN STUFF FOR MY WEDDING. THE OTHER THINGS TO REMEMBER IS 1) A WEDDING IS A BIG DAY THAT WILL ONLY HAPPEN ONCE (OR SHOULD ANYWAY) SO A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL JUST GO ALL OUT AND BUY THE QUALITY STUFF AND 2) YOU MIGHT RUN INTO A HARD TIME MATCHING THE RIGHT COLORS WITH THE COLORS YOUR CUSTOMERS WILL HAVE IN THEIR WEDDING. OTHER THAN THAT, I THINK IT'S A GREAT IDEA. I MADE MY OWN WEDDING INVITATIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS AND PROGRAMS AND EVERYTHING. I DID POST THAT ON SEVERAL WEBSITES THAT I WOULD BE WILLING TO DO SUCH ITEMS FOR PEOPLE AND TRIED SELLING SOME STUFF ON EBAY, BUT NEVER GOT ANYWHERE. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

I felt the same way you do when I was planning my wedding just a little over a year ago. I am a creative person, too, so I wound up making just about everything, and I LOVED IT! I thought about my own business, too. I think I might actually do it someday when my husband and I are more financially stable to take a risk like that.

If you are up to the risk, then I think you should go for it! Without risk, there's no reward.

Congratulations on your wedding and good luck in all your future endeavors.

Best wishes- and remember, don't let stress ever get in the way of you enjoying the planning of your wedding. Enjoy every last minute of it!
