If you have had them fill out the application with all the important tuff such as dob and ssn you can go to www.annualcreditreport.com and do a free credit check on them. It will not give you a score but it will let you know what they are in collections for and stuff like that.

Depending on the state that you live in, most require permission from the credit holder for you to pull their credit report, if not they can actually sue you, but once you gain signed permission usually on the tennants pre-agreement then just go to experian.com they are one of the three largest credit beaurus in the country and will be able to help you.

You could send me $13 via PayPal and I'll run their credit check through my Landlord association and email the full report. Great Answer?

You should get the tenant checked, try services such as http://www.credit-check-services.co.uk they give risk reports from £9. Someone mentioned Equifax with reprots for £2 ... I checked and could not find this, seems like they got it wrong. ... but don't take my word for it, check for yourself.
Good luck

Don't bother. Just take a deposit from them in advance. If they miss a payment kick them out.
