What is it about a baby that people either crave or are revolted by? I'm trying to write a paper about why people have "baby fever", but I don't want to say the same old things! If you have an answer to my question PLEASE post one!!! Thanks so much!! :)

want a baby- someone to call your own, someone to look up to you, someone who is with you forever, someone to nurture.
Not want a baby- crying, spending money

When I was younger I never thought I wanted kids, looking back I can see I was destined to be a mom. I have three kids and one on the way. I have a daughter who is 11, a son who is 15 and a son who is almost 18. I am seven months pregnant with my fourth child, another son. This baby was totally unplanned but I'm very happy about him, even though it was a huge shock. As my children had started getting older and more independent I started really wanting another baby. There are so many reasons. I love taking care of them; they make me laugh and I just enjoy talking to them and I'm so proud of the way they have turned out. My husband took a bit longer to get used to the idea of another baby. We had planned on traveling a lot once our kids were all grown, now we have to change our plans. Also, the cost of raising kids is so high, and the stress level can be even higher. There are many bad times that go along with the good, but in the end it is all worth it. You do lose a lot of freedom but that's what family members and good babysitters are for! For me personally, I don't think my life would have much meaning without my kids. Hope this helps!

I think people want a baby because it gives meaning to life. Before you have a baby it is all about yourself, but when you have a baby your life becomes about someone else. You no longer matter. This little person comes into your life and suddenly nothing matters but them. They show you that there are still sweet, wonderful things in this world. I never had baby fever, none of our children were planned. They are all blessings though and I cannot imagine my life without them.
For people who do not want to have children, I was one of them before I met my husband. I did not like children and so I thought I would be a TERRIBLE Mom. I just had no desire to have them. I do not think it makes you a bad person if you do not want a child. Some people just have no desire to have children.

I just had a baby on Christmas Eve. I love him to death, but I don't want anymore. My body has gone through so much, and 1 is more than enough for us. He's a handful! Before I got pregnant we wanted like 3 or 4, but now that he's here, we realize it's a lot harder than people say it is, and our family is good at 3.

Alot of people want a baby because they see other people with babies and see them as being so cute and don't think about the responsiblities that are with having a baby. Others don't want babies due to careers, selfishness they are too much of a baby themselves and want too much that they don't have the love to give because they love theirselves so much,babies are expensive they are not like a toy and can be thrown into a corner when you are tired of playing with them they are a 24/7 job.

I wanted babies because I felt like that would show my hubby and my real love. And also that we could raise children to make this world a better place. I know a lot of people who don't want to bring children into this world so it goes either way.

Perhaps it's like caveman instincts that drive people to reproduce so that their gene pool is around for many generations to come.
For me, I just want to have another baby because I like larger families. It's important to me that my children grow up with lots of siblings and family around. Not for religious reasons either.

i never ever wanted to have kids but i fell pregnant by accident & knowing theres a life growing inside of you is amazing to know that your produsing someone inside of you & its all yours, to know your giving life to someone, i guess no ones really sure if they want kids ir not its hust siomething people have to take a chance on. its hard being a mother especially when your on your own but its great. & im glad that i decided to go through with my pregnancy coz i am loved so much by my 2 year old son that i dont need anyone else in my life. hes the reason i wake up evey morning. i think people are negative to having kids coz of the labour but what you get out of it makes up fo it 110%....

well i 26 and i have one child who is 2 1/2 and she the best to to ever happen to me and lately i have had this pain in my heart and i just want another one so bad when my husband tell me "lets wait a little longer" i actually cry i try no to think about another baby i also try not to want another baby but all i think about is having another one it's just something in my brain that i can't help it

I wanted a baby because I was a silly teenager that thought it would be fun
I dont want anymore because then you are stuck with a daddy for 18+ years even if you dont stay with him

A lot of people want children because they want to have a family, they want to share their love with their offspring, they want to fulfill their dream of being a parent.
Some people don't want children because its to expensive, to painful, unable to commit to a lifelong commitment, too selfish of their time.
