Yes it's very exhausting and once you have been on your crutches the inside of your arm pit really hurts. I know your pain.

Too many times to count. Trick knee and a very weak ankle.

It is no fun to have to ask people to walk your dog 2 or 3 x a day.

It is no fun to have to ask people to carry your coffee to you.

It is no fun losing the freedom to move about.

It is no fun to start using muscles in your body in new and unbalanced ways so that you hurt constantly in new places as well as the break.

It is no fun to develop deep bruises and sores under the arms where you rest your weight.

It is no fun having to frequently stop and elevate the foot because of the throbbing from being hauled around with you.

It is REALLY no fun when you bump your leg by accident.

It is no fun doing stairs.

It is no fun when the good ankle/knee/hip starts to protest over use.

It is no fun dealing with ignoramuses who think it is funny.

It is only fun when you have a darn good story to tell about HOW you ended up in crutches to tell! Sometimes, that tale has to be...padded LOL.

The only comfort I had was how many more people I seemed see on the street with crutches. But then, that happened when I was pregnant too.

Take comfort from the knowledge that bones knit and soon you will be just fine again if you follow your doc's instructions. By the way, when your leg is healed, yoga is a wonderful way to help get back to your original condition.

Just enjoy some good reading and tv time.

i've been on crutches for the past 5 weeks its no fun at all you get cramps in your good leg and you cant carry an open container or plate without things getting risky. i suggest getting a backpack and use ziplock bags to move stuff around

I've broken and sprained some muscles in my body before, of course the only time i got a crutch or a cast was for my pinky finger... (And not my legs!)

No never have. I only had my left arm in a full cast, that was trouble enough, I can imagine being on crutches is worse.

No, it's not fun at all, it's down right tiring. To say nothing of what it does to your arms.
It is a great way though to get to the front of the line at Disneyland, so this would be a good time to make that trip.

I was. I was a weak sissy and couldn't handle them so I rented a wheelchair instead, which isn't much fun either.
If you're using crutches now I hope you get well soon. :)

briefly. pain in the butt.
my mom just had bunion surgery, and she is a horrible patient! she was putting weight on the foot and everything...then got yelled at by the doctor. she hates them.

BUT...everyone did everything for her, even helped in CVS in the line. an employee offered to walk around with her to carry her stuff.

no and I hope I never am. I also think it looks hard to be on crutches and it looks like it hurts.

It's fun for about 3 laps of the office. I've been off them for only two days now (yippee!) and my arms and hands still ache.
