seriously, every book I read on Positive attitude makes me think I should become more liberal, because being a conservative and seeing what goes on (of which I can do nothing about), tends to mae me pysed off!! So in a sense, in order to keep a PMA, you kind of have to live and let live- regardless. So that's ok, but in a sense doesn't that kind of silence yourself and let the machine run everything. I mean its like terrorists- should I sit back and wait to be killed or hope to go out and kill them first- because they don't see things the same way?

interesting statement: "in a sense doesn't that kind of silence yourself and let the machine run everything."

liberals want a bigger machine to rage against (note their rage against the large machine liberalism has built), while conservatives want a smaller, more efficient machine that costs less to operate. smaller machine + lower cost = smaller headache. that's a positive attitude.

Personally, I think an idiot has a better chance of keeping a positive attitude than either a liberal or conservative. The idiot is not caught up in the ideological struggle that constantly plagues the labeled people, and subsequently can find good in just about anything that doesn't harm him. Case in point is the length and conflict evidenced in this question. God bless America and her idiots who are just smart enough to not be labeled a liberal or conservative.

No.....A conservative sees the way things are and tries to deal with a problem realistically, personal responsibility being required. A liberal looks at the same problem and expects the state to do something about it with your money and has a pie-in-the-sky attitude which will not be realized most of the time.

No. Keeping a positive attitude is a choice. Just because things make me angry does not mean I do not have a positive attitude. It just means I work harder to find a solution to the problem. And there is no shortage of hostility from the liberals around here, only I don't see a lot of solutions from them.

Liberals just tend to have a little more hope. As such, it is considerably more difficult to be a liberal. You have to convince people that there is something to hope for, and that the world isn't entirely composed of people with guns the day after their boss fires them and they get robbed at gunpoint.
This coming from a raving optimist.

Great question, actually. "Live and let live" is definitely the healthier (for our blood pressure) attitude. The telling difference is, "let live" doesn't mean "let yourself be stomped all over." Remember that Buddhist monks are some of the best martial artists around. The trick is, you don't go throwing your weight around until someone tries to throw their weight at you. Then you smoosh them, brush off your hands, say "Wasn't that childish of him?" and go back to living and letting live.

The only sense of responsibility to the world that Conservatives hold during their daily lives is to slander and make fun of liberals, ie. "libtards." I'd trade in this burden of carrying more than my share of the weight of the world for all these ignorant selfish **** heads for the role of playing blind patriot any day; but then I wouldn't be able to look at myself in the mirror.
