Should the government regulate the internet to protect users?

No--within reason. Certainly, the government should monitor areas for child predators, for example. But they shouldn't *regulate* the internet--that's the difference. The internet is one of the best things to happen to freedom of speech since the printing press. The minor problems we have (such as trolls) are nothing compared to the power it gives us.

If you are reffering to children, that's what parental controls are for.
