I've heard that if you have your car registered in your wife's name, and her car in your name, then if you get a ticket you can say: "That's not me driving that car!" Is that true?

The ticket is issued to the vehicle's registered owner, not the driver.

If the ticket isn't paid, the vehicle registration is not renewed and the vehicle can no longer be operated on the road.

If the vehicle owner isn't the one operating the vehicle, it's up to him (or her) to get paid back by the one actually driving when the offence (running the light, presumably) occurred.

You and Wife are one now, so no matter what workaround you may have thought of you will ultimately get the ticket. And the higher insurance rates and more taxes and then a divorce for being a lousy cheating so and so.
If you think of a way to cheat a traffic ticket for driving stoopid you deserve all that befalls you.

How about not running the red lights? That works pretty well too.

As for the registration thing -- you just get a ticket in the mail and send them a check - there really is no way to fight it.

And if you have unpaid tickets and park your car in Chicago at the airport - they just boot it for you and then you get to pay a little extra.

Whoever is the registered owner of the car gets the ticket. Why don't you just obey the traffic laws then you won't have to worry about it.

You can say it, but in Ohio the person who's car it is still gets the ticket.

Hey, I got an idea: stop at the light and don't speed.

How about stopping for the light? That will REALLY foil the camera.

Some people duck under their visor, hide their front license plate, etc., but as has been said, just slow down when you see a yellow light, and stop when you see the red.

Dapixilator beat me to it. Don't run the red light. You know what? It might also help you foil those pesky involuntary manslaughter charges.
