Many sellers accept cash, personal checks, money orders, etc. as well as paypal and/or credit cards. I've been selling on ebay 4 years and every once in a while someone sends cash. I accept any and all. In 34 years of business, postal service has never lost a domestic package or letter for me and only 2 overseas packages. So the odds are with you; most people worry too much! Just make sure you're dealing with a reputable seller -- one with a good feedback record.

I would suggest that you get a Checking account. That way you get a Check Card with a Visa or Mastercard logo from your bank and use it like a regular credit card, just that it comes out of your checking account, and no interest rate, so it works like cash. But if you're unable to do that, then always ask the seller if they take Checks or money orders, some do, some don't. I agree with the person above, DONT send currency/cash through the mail. If it gets lost there's no way of claiming that money back, however, if you send a check or money order, you can always call the bank to cancel that check or money order and re-issue you a new one.

Only if the seller will accept cash (most won't).
Sending cash through the mail is dangerous. You have no way to know if payment was received or not.
Ask your parents if they would write a check to the seller if you give them the cash.

before you bid, make sure the seller accepts money orders (MO).
Some sellers only accept certain payment types. If they accept money orders, they are easy enough to get at various stores and the post office.
