When I apply eyeliner (pencil) on my bottom lid I always tear and I get this burning feeling that makes my eyes sleepy. After wearing it for a couple of hours my eyes also start to get red. Is there anyway for this not to happen?

Try a liquid liner instead of pencil, make sure you apply (only) to the outside of lid and stop the line at the lash, don't extend to the tear duct. Also, Bobbi Brown makes an excellent gel liner, $18.00 but lasts forever.
Good Luck!

It is recommended that you not make-up the internal edge of the eyelid. Eye doctors consider this area to be very vulnerable. Never use mascara as an eye-liner. Avoid liquid or powdered eyeliner due to potential flaking. Consider instead using an eye pencil. Some ophthalmologists, plastic surgeons, and dermatologists do a "permanent eyeliner", a form of "tattoo" which rings the eyes and eliminates the need for cosmetic application.

Look for waterproof, hypo-allergenic eye pencils. I had that problem myself and I find that Estée Lauder Artist's Eye Pencil works best for me. I don't tear or have adverse reactions with that pencil. Good luck! :)

For pencil eyeliner application you want to put it above the eyelash when doing the bottom section. Depending on the type of eyeliner you use can affect your eyes. I would go with something common and/or popular for your protection. If you happen to go blind then you can easily sue right lol j/k. As far as I know it doesn't affect your eyes. As for as liquid application goes, I slightly pull the outer corner of my eye. I then simply apply as steady as I can when I paint the eyeliner on. This is really hard for the bottom section because it can sometimes get in your eye or messy if you start to tear up. One trick that works for me is liquid on top and pencil on bottom. It's also more natural looking that way.

I agree with engtapech - stop wearing it. It is not attractive and it does not make your eyes look bigger. Even worse, you are tugging at your bottom lid and irritating your skin which will lead to wrinkling over time.

Like said above, do NOT line the inner rim. Look for products formulated for sensitive skin - you may want to try natural eyeliners, which are available at health food stores. If you continue to react, I can assure you no makeup looks better than red, irritated eyes!

You might be allergic to it. So I would suggest that you stop using it. Eyeliner is not made for everyone.

stop wearing it. It makes women look hard. Most men don't find it attractive.
