It's not just the Americans - you've got money bags Abramovich @ Chelskii & another russian @ Portsmouth, for a while it looked as if some dude from Dubai was gonna buy the Scousers & if you go North of the border to Scotland you've got that bonkers Latvian who owns Hearts.

I think that the main reason why there's been so many reports of takeovers ths season (Liverpool, Everton, Spurs, Newcastle to name a few) is due to the huge amounts of money that are due to be paid for the Premiership TV rights so basically as much as they are in it to bring success to the fans, they're also in it to make a few £'s - or $'s - whichever you prefer!

Yea this was even bigger. Theres a lot of money in English soccer as TV rights etc around the world are huge as it is the most watched league in the world in any sport. Thats why. Its a little more complex than that but thats the jist of it.

Wealthy people like to invest. If they are fans of English soccer, so much the better. A recent American movie about an illegal Mexican alien soccer champ getting discovered and sent to UK MIGHT have had something to do with it
