It is funny how we change with age. I was a protester in the whole Viet Nam era including being involved in the riots and altercations with authority. I have supported Bush until recently, I have now turned totally against the war and think we should pull out completely. There will be severe repercussions and we never again may be safe on our own soil. The world has lost its innocence.

America should never have entered the war in the first place...i had to a a 3 page essay on that, trust me, there are good reasons why we shouldn't have gone over there to begin with.

We need to train Iraq to run it's own country and defend itself. That will only happen if we set a timetable, otherwise they will expect us to babysit them forever. Other than this, I don't know what the "more to be done" is: they have a democracy, Sadaam Hussain is dead, WMD's have not been found. Maybe someone who keeps claiming all we want to do is "Cut & Run" can say.

There is more to be done now than there was when we started. It will take a long time before Iraq can be self supporting. If we pull out now, or anytime within the next 5 years, Iran will take over.

idealistically- the war should be done with

It depends on how favorably you wish for it to finish.
Obviously, WAY more needs to be done than what's already been done.
It TRULY has come down to whether or not we should give up or give it one last-ditch effort to stabilise the region.
For most of the country, the "will" has been shot to hell.

I believe that there is a lot more to be done but what I do not believe is that it is our problem. We have enough to deal with in our own country. Why do we play hero and try to fix all the other countries problems.

We can't even begin to imagine the chaos and anarchy that would engulf the world if we were to just pull out of Iraq. We have work to do and it would be completely irresponsible and foolish, not to mention deadly if we just gave up.

Bush went there to get Saddam for trying to kill his daddy and to get his hands on their oil. He got in over his head, so to speak, and now we are stuck helping fight what basically is a civil war in Iraq. It's time to cut our loses and get the hell out of there!
