1993 Volvo 850 sedan. It is COLD outside (-5 F), and when I start it up, the coolant light is on for a few minutes, but then goes off. When I go to turn on / adjust the fan, the fan does not come on.

Would a bad thermostat or low coolant kill the power to the heater fan motor?

Thank You

Your thermostat has NOTHING to do with your blower motor for the heater.

It could be several things.
Check your fuses under the dash first. It will either be a yellow 20, or green 30.

If it's not the fuse, it could be :
1) a bad ground to the motor.
2) a bad power wire to the motor.
3) a bad switch.
4) a bad relay.

The amount of coolant in the radiator will not affect the blower motor. You have either a blown fuse, a bad switch, a bad motor or a bad wire. Find the bad component and replace it to be toasty warm again.

It is possible that your thermostat is stuck. Fill the coolant and check the thermostat. Thermostats are usually in the top radiator hose near the engine block.

If it is going to slot contained in the tray it is going to artwork--verify you connect effective to effective . both Sears and AAA promote batteries to in superb condition that. AAA( a minimum of the position I stay) will come out and set up.
