Ignorance.
By which I don't mean stupidity. We all suffer from stupidity (by which I mean not all being geniuses) in varying degrees, and there's nothing we can do about it.
By ignorance I mean the capacity, in people who are economically and culturally capable of being truly well-informed, of not knowing - or of choosing not to learn - easily obtainable information that they need to know.
If people were less ignorant, they would be less inclined to act on their stupid impulses. They would talk less b***s***, thereby being less inclined to incite those who follow them to do harmful and evil things. They would be less prone to hate people simply because they don't know them, as opposed to hating them for bad things they've been seen to do.
Religion isn't all bad; in some Latin American countries, it was only the priests who stood up against the death squads. Drugs aren't all bad; they've granted enlightenment and given rise to some cool music. Alcohol isn't all bad, you can enjoy being drunk and not worry that you're breaking the law by imbibing. Money makes economic transactions infinitely simpler. Without hunger, we'd never have invented many great meals. Even wars have, on maybe on or two occasions, been useful.
But ignorance, not bothering to know stuff that you could easily find out, is never excusable.

Greed.
Greed makes us hoard things so we have things and others do without.
Greed makes us allow some to starve and die of illness while we are treated well.
Greed attracts us to religions that say we are better than others.
Greed makes corporations move overseas, kicking good people out of jobs unless they are willing to work for next to nothing.
Greed makes people (almost) start World War Three over a dumb piece of worthless land because they think some god gives it meaning.
Greed (wanting what you should not) makes marriages break up and kids suffer.

I think every one should be given the chance to ban one memory so they can move on from the past because ive had bad memorys and although some may be important there are people with realy tramatic memorys like seeing a loved one die or sorry to say being raped and i think if that one memory could be banned from the human brain that person would be alot happier

That is tough, I think I would ban War, since without drugs we couldn't heal, without religion we couldn't worship, without hunger we wouldn't eat, without alcohol we couldn't ...hummmm...pary? Without money we couldn't do all the things we do now....So War is my answer because without it [even though it boost economy and the national debt] I think if it were banned we would be forced to invoke thought and conversation and deal with the problems of society instead of killing to get our points across.

I think, of all the things I could ban to make the world a better place, I would go with this...
I think I would ban dishonesty in ALL its forms.
Not even the smallest white lie would be able to be uttered even to spare someones feelings at the breaking of bad news.
That way there would be NO misunderstandings between anyone.

greed. greed is a lot farther up the chain of bad things than people realize.
if greed isnt a good answer for you id say religion. although i dont konw the answers to religion i think we would make a lot more progress as a society if though more freely and were more open to the science of what is actually going on.

Nothing, I believe in free choice, I think it needs to be practised more like allow everything and people should decide what’s good for them not the government.
Take the junk food campaign, why get at advertisers for bad parenting?
If a under 12 is eating junk food, its not the availability that needs to be controlled but their parents educated in parenting, the same applies for age restriction on various products and gambling.

Ban all wars. It would help bring the harmony we need, at a time when our planet is being destroyed.
