Have you reacted really strongly in the past with him having contact with her? If so, it could explain why he a) made sure you knew he needed something from the house, but b) never specifically told you his plans to retrieve it.
Jealousy is a dangerous thing. He's with you, not her....you have nothing to worry about.

You need to see if you are over reacting every time he needs to contact the ex. but the main question, why is he going there, are there kids involved? Does he still have stuff there? What's the story?
Now, and this is important. so listen up;
When he tells you he needs to go to his ex house and it's valid, say, fine, see you later, and that is that.
If there is not a good reason (mainly if there are kids) then they should basically cut all ties.
My fiance has an ex and three grown children, so I know that the ties between him and his ex wife will always be there, and I learnt that if I freak out every time he needs to go to her house or she used to over call with fake emergencies, I only make things worse.
Best to priorities and deal with this calmly, it's better for your marriage.

He did tell you that he needed to go to her house for something weeks ago.
In guy language, he did tell you. However, a date and time would've been nice to know.
Just don't stress yourself about it.
It could have been much worse if he had kept it from you all together.

Your probably reading to much into it. It sounds like you guys have some trusting issues and things to work out. The deed is done, so forget about it.

How do you know he made "plans" ? many times men just do things when they are in the neiborhood or when the mood strikes them. I think you may be a little too concerned.

Deceit, would've been going there then lying about it or trying to otherwise deceive you about his having been there.
If you're mad at him for going, just be mad at him for going.
