What is the purpose of a middle name?

Some valid reasons:

1) If your parents say your full name, middle name, and your last name it means you're in trouble.

2) If you don't like your first name, you can go with your middle name.

3) To complement well with a first name or to make the name combined better.

4) To help you get better jobs. If your name is Tameka Virginia Wallace, for example. You will get the job if you use Virginia Wallace, instead of Tameka Wallace.

to give you an option to change your name to your middle name if you don't like your first name..and some people don't have middle names..my brother doesn't..and one of his girl friends didn't..my middle name is William its mean protector..protector of what I don't know..
