I'd love to see it!

I had two chances to vote for him, but voted for Carter (?!) and Mondale (?!) instead!

I remember the Age of Reagan, but I was young and ignorant then.

Later in life, I appreciate what he did.

That's why I have hope for some of the liberals here.

Best president of my lifetime!!!

PS I would put Reagan on the $20 bill. Keep Hamilton on the 10 - he was Secretary of the Treasury. Jackson probably wouldn't have wanted to be on federal government currency.

I think FDR had something to do with the March of Dimes. And he knew how to fight a war! Keep him on the dime.

(I collect coins, as well as being a history/politics buff.)

It won't ever happen as long as the liberals are in charge of Congress - you'd be more likely to see them make a US national holiday for Saddam Hussein or Hugo Chavez first - they LOVE socialists and murdering dictators waaaay more than any American or member of our military.

Right after he becomes a saint. Of course in some people's minds (those who have not been observant over the years) he is somewhere above the saints and below the angels. You guys over rate Ronald Reagan. Reagan was a good president but he certainly wasn't great.

God I hope soon. But why are all of the great Presidents born in February? Washington, Lincoln, and Reagan, all born in February.

First, let's get him on the dime; and rid our currency of that socialist FDR.

Reagan was not only one of our greatest Presidents, but the last true, conservative President.

Edit:

Lila t, you cannot make a statement like that without backing it up with supporting facts. So you mean under Brezhnev the Soviet Union started to collapse? Are you referring to the large amounts of money spent on space and military programs in the 1970s? So, if you say it started in 1976, do you want to give the credit to Nixon or Ford who collectively were the Presidents for the previous eight years up to and including January 1977. Remember, Jimmy Carter did not become President until January 20, 1977.

If you are referring to the large space and military budget expenditures of the early and mid seventies as the beginning of the collapse of the Soviet Union, then why didn't the Soviet Union fall in the late 1970s? It is because Russia has a reprieve from keeping up with the west militarily, since we had a very weak President during the late 1970s? So, I guess that means Reagan saw what happened during the early and mid 1970s under previous conservative Presidents, and pushed the US's military technology ever further ahead. Well beyond the Soviet Union's ability to even have had a hope to reach parity?

If you want to give credit to Nixon, Ford, and Reagan that is fine with me.

It will never be a a national holiday because he was a terrible president mired in corruption with iran/contragate and selling arms to Iran and making deals with them to hold onto the hostages until after the 1980 elections. The hostages were released 1 hour after his swearing in during his innaugaration. I lived through that time period, he bloated the government, he over spent and had huge deficits, much like GWB is now and then there was a big crash in 1988. He was terrible. He released the mentally ill from the state hospitals and they had no where to go and the number of homeless soared during that time. He had absolutely nothing to do with the downfall of communism and the USSR collapse because that started back in 1976. Anyone who knows Russian history knows this fact. But nitwits think that Reagan did it. Argh, I wish there were more conscious people in this country.

The Acting President was the SECOND worst EVER elected. Tricky Dick was the WORST elected. Dictator Dumbya NEVER was. And you want a Gipper holiday? Maybe then we will start having national holidays for the founding of Exxon-Mobile or Halliburton.... you'd LIKE that right?

Take your pick..

(a) "When asked about when Reagan's birthday would become a national holiday, a highly placed anonymous source said "I cannot remember".

OR

(b) 2 days after hell freezes over

OR

(c) 1 day before GWB's last day in office, IF a national holiday can be created via executive order.

Personally, I'm going with "a".

I doubt anytime soon. Why are so many of our Presidents Aquarii? Interesting.

He was the President when I came of age. He gave me a signed photograph when I graduated from high school.
