George Washington Carver did not invent peanut butter as we know it today. A white dentist in the Midwest invented it, trying to come up with something his toothless patients could eat to get protein in their diets. The reason no one can think of anything that a black person invented is because they really haven't invented anything noteworthy.

George Washington Carver- Discovered over 300 uses for peanuts and 118 for sweet potatoes.
Scratch that, I hadn't seen the other posts. There's also Madame CJ walker, the woman who established the foundations of the fashion industry with her lines of makeup, originally from only hair products. Her products were hits with the consumers and Walker became a multi-millionaire. At her death, Walker's $multi-million$ estate was entitled in her will to philanthropical organizations (good-cause organizations). Walker's daughter's share of the inherited possessions and money was donated in a large portion in benefits of the Harlem Renaissance, another great African-American movement you should research.
