Tom has used a range of guitars throughout his career but has been well known for his Custom Fender Stratocasterwith a Seymour Duncan Invader Humbucking pickup in the bridge position which he used for the majority of blink-182 songs. Fender released this guitar as a Signature Model, but with a Seymour Duncan Invader Humbucking Pickup in the bridge. Fender stopped production with this model as Tom ended his deal with Fender and signed with Gibson. Since 2004, he has played his Custom Gibson ES-335with a Gibson Dirty Fingers Humbucking pickup in the bridge position. Both guitars have only the one volume potentiometer and one humbucking pickup. He is now using his signature Gibson ES-335 in an "Angels and Airwaves" version, which is white with a black stripe and can be found with the variation of off-white/tan with black stripe and matte black with gloss black stripe. Once in an AOL Session, Tom used a Custom Fender that was white with a black pickguard. The pickup was never specified, but has one volume control like his custom Stratocaster or ES-335. The guitar resembled a Toronadoor a Jagmaster.
