I should hope so... If we're still around as a species in 2030 I imagine the stuff we're using nowadays will look as outdated as stuff from the 70s looks now.

Interesting question, however - how far can Technology progress? We will probably be forced to use a different fuel source for out electricity, our cars will hopefully go further and faster more safely. Computers will probably get smaller and faster. Cellphones will get smaller and do more. But then we will start to hit the limit, we will not be able to decrease the size of any of our gadgets as they will become impractical they will be too small to use. The way we interface with our machines will change, maybe using touch or more advanced voice controls. It all depends, we could end up going back to basics if we cannot find a new source of energy, it all depends really on now.

We will have better technology but may not have a better life. We are beginning to learn that the promise of the '50s ('A better tomorrow through technology.") may not be so. Sometimes technology creates as many problems as it solves.

Well, yes, of course. Each day, new stuff is discovered, and technology progresses.
The only way for technology to remain static or regress would be to stop all investment in R&D, and to undergo collective and massive brain washing and to forget what we've learned.

That's a tad bit of an obvious question. In the past 23 years, tons of things have come about including cell phones and pcs, and laptops that are easy to use and small

We will certainly have much more advanced technology by then, if we still have enough fuel to run our energy-hungry society.

Hopefully yes unless World War III takes place, coz then the entire world will be wiped out with the new bombs we've invented....
Like Einstein said : I do not know what we will be fighting with in W.W. III but I do know that in W.W. IV we'll be fighting with sticks and stones................
