If it starts with a boost and remains running when you take booster cables off then your alternator should be fine, your battery is probably done, most auto parts suppliers can test your battery for free. Battery life is an average of 5 years, how old is yours?

If there's no noise at all, check the battery. When you turn the key does any inside lights come on?. The battery is a good place to start, after that your on your own.
