I've had so much work done I am at the end of my ROPE!

No check engine lights are on. At all. Starts fine [its northern Canada -38 today!]. It is running rougher then usual, seems to hesitate when changing speed [slower -> faster etc]. Also if I stand outside and listen to it, it sounds a little like a jet engine [about twice a minute for a few seconds] and has a weird on-and-off again chirping sound like it is full of dead mice :P

The only thing I have done different since getting it fixed is add some gasline antifreeze [yes it was the proper type] to a full tank of gas because with the windchill it is -50 C . Any ideas? - can I have a major problem without a check engine light coming on?

Thanks for the help!

The work I had done about a month ago was:
1 - tune up
2 - change fuel filter
3 - general inspection
4 - change plugs to the right type [hahah]
5 - replace fuel injectors and fuel pressure regulator

My serpentine belt was replaced in August 06 to get my Ontario safety as well.

Here in northern Wisconsin its been down to -24 in the morning
WE need to be grateful they even start at all. Mine reacts much different in this cold weather
A motor starting just doesn't sound or run the same at these sort of temps. Make sure you leave your car run a while before you start to drive it. And always drive very conservative at first in these drastically low temps. Lets hope for warmer weather .

The jet engine sound is your cooling fan coming on, chirping is probably a pulley, maybe your tensioner..... for running rough that could be a vacuum leak, also check your spark plug wires, make sure none are loose or burnt.

Hmm...Chirping = bearing going out. Probably the A/C clutch.
Hesitation, ....hmm......still thinking.........Possible vacuum leak.
If the did a tuneup, they should have replaced the rotor, and distributor cap,........Could be a fuel pump going out. I had to replace mine in '91 Chevy truck.

I'm afraid I don't have a good answer for you....I'm sure someone else will have a GREAT idea I havn't thought of.
Good luck.

the chirping noise on and off sounds like the clutch on your ac compressor ,,I know its winter but it does run on your belt. Also you may have a bad idler pulley causing a chirping noise.
vehicles tend to have lots of noises when its cold out.I also live in a cold weather climate and my car makes lots of noises that i don.t here in the summer.
