at 50 I got my Associates degree and now I am attending a state university to get my BA degree.
At first I did not want to go, but a professor talked me into it. I was the first to get a college degree in our family, and I was happy because mom was there...very proud.

One summer I went to a summer school in England (it was actually more like a summer camp for kids from all over the world). The focus was to teach English and sports. I was a rebellious 15 year old and I hated all sports. I always showed up late and sometimes I didn't show up at all. On the big 'sports-day' I chose to be a cheerleader (to escape the typical sports) but I also tried my best to get away from that.
On the last day they handed out awards and just to make fun of me I got "The most sporting female award"!!! LOL
I brought it back home to Iceland and was very proud to show it off. It was meant as a joke - but no one needs to know. ;)
