No - compulsive lying happens for a reason, and either the person would benefit from the lie or they wouldn't be aware of the lie. If either was the case they wouldn't say it. So, someone who says "I'm a compulsive liar" isn't in fact a compulsive liar, just a plain ol' boring liar like the rest of us.

Well if they were a compulsive liar they wouldn't admit this because they are liars and to be a compulsive liar you would have an inability to tell the truth!! So by saying they are a compulsive liar would be telling the truth (for once).

It depends on what they say that makes me judge whether a person is a liar or not. Yes I'm a liar sometimes but not everyone's perfect. If I can help it, I don't lie. If someone told me 5 lies in one hour, I would definitely think someone is a compoulsive liar!

I would find it hard to believe that a person could always be truthful, a sad pessimistic view, but it's how I feel. And as for someone informing me they were a compulsive liar, I'd believe them until they showed me evidence otherwise...........oh wait I guess they already did!

only if they were telling me a lie at the time in which case then yes, but judgement would have to be formulated according to the amount of time i had known them and whether or not i knew enough about them or details of stories they had told me about events or facts. assuming i had evidence to the contrary if not i would probably give them the benefit of doubt
