You could be irritated by what it is made of.Tell your gynochologist about this.Try different brands. You could be allergic. If you don't have a gynochologist, call Planned Parenthood. They can refer you to a specialist.

If inserted correctly, tampons do not hurt at all. You can't even feel them. Also, if not inserted correctly, they will leak. Other than that, the only other way that they will leak would be when they're full. Think about it. Periods are bad enough, if tampons hurt, millions of us girls would never use them. Rarely does anyone get it right the first time. Think of it like learning to ride a bike. Did you get that right the first time? Not many do. Anyway, the most important things to remember are RELAX. If you don't, you'll tense up, making it more difficult. Be patient. Don't get discouraged and give up. It may take some time, but it will be so worth it. Oh, and never "practice" when you're not on your period. If you remove a "dry" tampon, it will be difficult and could be painful. It may seem a little overwhelming at first, but once you learn, you'll be so glad you did, Good luck.

Okay, your vaginal walls swell during menstruation and when you pull the tampon out it maybe just a little more sensitive than other woman. Tampons can also scratch the inside of the vaginal wall causing irritation. Leaving the tampon in longer has nothing to do with it. Try a different brand and size may help and make sure it's fragrant free. But the best bet is to alternate between pad and tampon right now.

Try laying down on your back with your knees bent when you take it out. Try to relax and go slowly. You might also try a different kind of tampon that's not as thick or made of smoother material. The bottom line is that it should not hurt. You should talk to your school nurse or a doctor.

try re reading the instructions mabi you are inserting it in an awkward angle so it is hurting when you are taking it out plus allowing for leaks with it not being correctly inserted

another reason might be you need a lower absobacey your period might be to light for the one you are using now soo sticks alittle when romoving and the leaking cause by poor insertion am not entirely sure

but its just a thought hope it helps

you didn't say what size you're using or if your hymen is still intact. try tampax satin teen tampons. it could be hurting if your hymen is stretching or starting to tear, but I'd think it would hurt when you were putting it in too? where does it hurt, way up inside or right at the entrance? If it's near the entrance it's probably your hymen.

Use a smaller tampon - try slimfits. You may also just need to relax a little, although i know that's easier said than done.

sometimes if you are too tense, it will hurt...try relaxing your area down there and it should come out more easily...if that doesn't work, try using a different brand. I like Tampax Pearl tampons, they don't hurt going in or coming out.
