I think the SAT's are easier because they just measure how you take a test and once you know its simple to ace it while the ACT actually tests what you know.

The SAT scores on a 2400 point scale and is made up of about 10 sections of 30-45 minutes each.

The ACT scores on a 36 point scale and has four sections plus an optional writing section, with each section lasting from 30 minutes to an hour,

The SAT seemed easier to me because breaks were more frequent and the questions were over a wider range of subjects.

In general, the SAT is a more difficult test (i.e. testers score lower on average on the SAT than the same testers on the ACT).

One fundamental difference is that the SAT penalizes you for guessing, while the ACT does not, per se. In the ACT, it is better to guess at an answer than to leave it blank. With the SAT, if you leave a question blank, it counts neither for you nor against you, so guessing is not advisable.

The SAT is more widely accepted among US education institutions, but the ACT is accepted at many. You need to check with the schools you are interested in to see what they prefer.

Hope this helps!
