I am not a control freak. And I agree with the other person they are very insecure people. Men/woman are not animals. For instance I tell my husband go out with your freinds, go to a strip joint soooo what have fun. In the end he comes home to moma. Moma takes care of him and loves him and thats all he needs to know to keep coming back to me. Once you tighten that leash and control them most likely they will stray. 6 years and going strong.

I used to be a control freak but I analyzed my life and made the changes necessary to ensure that I would never be one again.

I am not a control freak (or any other kind) but I do know a friend of mine who is a neat freak.

I think we are all control freaks over one thing or another in our lives. Is it being a control freak to want your home as you want it? BTW being a control freak is not such a bad thing if you handle it properly.
But when it is a bit much, no I am not. Too much stress involved. I did not even control my daughters too much. I trusted them and they never once abused my trust. In fact, when my daughter was given a scholarship for her Masters, she thanked me for NOT trying to control her life. She said if I had pushed she would still be working for KFC instead of rising to the top. She said that not pushing would get her sister to university as well.
We all know if we push, the pushee will most likely push back.
We all know serious control freaks. Even Oprah Winfrey admits to being a control freak.
I worked for 8 years for a control freak. I was her "wife" in that I ran her home and raised her kid. She raised the term to new levels by admitting, "Yes I am fussy and hard to please and want everything perfect. But that is just me." With that, in her mind, it was justified to be as she was.
A good example of her extremes. I got a phone call at 11 pm one night in which she let me know in no uncertain terms how "disappointed" she was in me. Why? I was not folding her panties properly and arranging them in the drawer by colour according to the rainbow!
Another time I bought blue j-cloths for the kitchen. She paid me to return them and seek out red ones. If the sink was not cleaned, with a q-tip for detailing, she was "disappointed". Need I go on?
Needless to say, this woman, who taught non-violent communication, finally lost her temper at me for not cleaning her white kitchen floor with a small brush to get the tiniest bits out. So much for control freaking. She had control over everything but her own temper!
I left.

I.g.: When I have to do any team work (I'm a college student), I always end up re-doing whatever the others did anyway.... I can't help it, I feel like if it's not done by me, it's just not well done :p

Nope, but I do like to have control of some sort ofver my life. I know I cannot make others do of my own will, but I know people who live there lives like that... it is sad, really. Have a great day!
