A divorced man has his 3 grown children and their spouces over for dinner. His ex wife, the mother of the 3 grown children, also comes. Neither are remarried, or have a significant other at the meal. The man sits at one end of the table...should the ex sit at the other?

Yes, the two adults who raised the children should sit at the ends of the table. As long as the new wife of the man of the house is not there.
The man of the house at one end, the woman of the house at the other. Technically if she's the exwife and no longer in the house then she can sit at the other head of table, as long as there is no "new" woman of the house.

I think that since they are obviously on a friendly terms that this would be just fine, neither has a new spouse there. Otherwise the choice could be the oldest child.

absolutely. Probably best for all involved that they sit at opposite ends. If not, I would say the eldest male. If none, the eldest child.

if it is at the divorced man's house, he sits at the head of the table. if it is at the ex wife's house, she sits at the head of the table. everyone else sits where they are comfortable.

Unless there's a formal seating arrangement, she should sit wherever she wants.

Its up to her if she dosent want to then its the oldest son, or the favorite son in law

I really don't think that it matters anymore. YOU should all sit where it is comfortable.
