I'm glad you have asked this question because I was going to ask it today. I have never heard of anyone who has won anything at all. I quite like to magazine but I am fed up with all the garbage that comes through the post, my recycle bin is always full. We should stop destroying trees which is a factor in global warming perhaps they should start fining firms that load us up with paper, (of course they won't the post office would be up in arms with their lose of revenue)

Unless you actually have won or know a winner of these kinds of contests, it's very hard to verify that they are legitimate. However, they would get into all kinds of legal trouble if they held a contest like this and didn't select a winner, and since Readers Digest is a reputable publication, I'm willing to believe their contest is legit. Publisher's Sweepstakes is another one I've always wondered about, although Ed MacMahon has been interviewed about it many times, so I know it's legit. Same with the state lottery. I actually know someone who won the NJ Lottery (my wife's aunt won $6 million in the mid 1980s).

No I've never heard of anyone winning Readers Digest Prize Draw. I used to send off their bits of paper but then it got a bit stupid, where they were sending stuff to me to send back to them - I put it straight in the bin now. I had thought I would telephone the previous "prize winner" but they usually have common names and not enough info to locate them.

That guy that 'won' might be an employee being paid to display that logo.

I didn't know the person, but there was a guy in the next street who drove a car (I have no idea what make or model it was) that said "Reader's Digest Prize Winner" on each side, so I assume he had won it.

No I have never known a winner of a 'Readers Digest Prize Draw'.

That fellow with the car probably worked for them.

And another thing to remember......If you buy the magazines you had better make sure to tell them, by a date set by THEM, that you wish to cancel all magazines for the following year. Otherwise you end up with another bill.

No I haven't. I know of several people who have mentioned this in conversation i.e. getting a congratulatory letter from Tom Champagne. I know of some who have won big on the lottery or the pools but nobody, ever winning any competition from any mail order firm except a set of coasters or some other rubbish.

Well i've never known anyone who has won it. i think it's just a marketing ploy to get you to buy their books. Why are the winners never on TV or in Magazines? After all it is a lot of money to win!!!!

The recycling plant is the ultimate winner as I send all junk mails to paper recycling, so eventually the planet as less paper is needed.
