Bob Sanders forced fumbles made interceptions etc. Manning had an average game, is the NFL that desperate that they have to fabricate awards for Manning. Both running backs also deserved MVP honors before Manning.

totally agreed..........

i texted my vote for bob sanders, forced fumble, game sealing interception and he was just an enforcer all night long....he lead the defense in shutting down the bears

then the 2 RBs were my next choice...they combined for 190 rushing yards and much more from scrimmage....not to mention addai almost set the record for receptions in a super bowl

i think they just gave it manning because he orchestrated the offense and im sure he was responsible for checking off to a lot of different plays...he is their team leader and it was a team effort, you know?

grossman would have been a good vote as well...he may have been the colts most valuable player....mike smith from espn said manning should give the cadillac to him...hahah

NOTE TO THE GUY THAT SAID MANNING DESERVED IT FOR HIS PLAY ALL YEAR..........we are talking about the super bowl mvp, not the NFL MVP....get with the program...."sanders didnt play in all of those games"...hahaha, and "manning gave to charities"????? what does that have to do with being an MVP?

If the game ended at the end of the first half, Addai would have won hands down. But then in the second half he disappeared. I don't think Rhodes should have been MVP, because by the time they started running him the momentum was completely in Indy's favor and the defense was tired. I think the game was won at the end of the half when Manning drove the team down the field for the go ahead field goal. Once they got the lead and momentum you knew it would take something special to stop them, and the Bears didn't have it. Bottom line, no one was spectacular for 60 minutes, so they gave it to the guy who was above average the whole time.

I agree with you on that one. Both running back had a great game and as you said Manning only had an average game. I guess he got the MVP because of who he is. Don't get me wrong, I like him but i think that's a good question of who the MVP is.

I agree. I actually thought Rhodes and the Cb who iced it with the Int return for a TD would've been Co-MVPs. But that's how the cookie crumbles. The NFL has always wanted to make him into a Hall of Fame QB and for good reason. He is good, heck the guy is great. But his Super Bowl participation did not warrant an MVP trophy. Think about it...no running game and it would've been a different story.

Hey Snidely who the heck got the ball to those guys? REX GROSSMAN that's who. Rex thre two tds. One to Muhammid and one to the Colts DB.

I believe that the MVP for the Colts should be Rex Grossman. He almost made more completions to the Colts than Manning did. If it wasnt for Rex's outstanding game the Colts would of lost. Rex Grossman is probably one of the best QB's of all times. Not only can he throw a 6 yard pass to his own team but he can throw bombs to the other team. He is an outstanding guy and deserves the MVP.

The MVP award was a award earned through out the year. Bob Sanders didn't play in all of his games. Also, Peyton Manning had a 99% QB rating and played in all of his games with a fantastic statistics chart. Manning also gave to multiple charities and broke two records this year. Overall, he did deserve it.

If Manning calls his own plays like you stipulate, then why was he bitching and moaning to the offensive coordinator for the play calling???? It is because all his gesturing is really BS and it means nothing. He didn't deserve the MVP. He only got it because the NFL kisses his *** unlike any other player ever before, well maybe Brett Favre. But it is rediculous. It was all rigged to have the Colts win it and give Manning the MVP!

1. Your right, they should've done a co-MVP this year.
2. Manning didn't have an "average game" he had an above average game, but because he's peyton manning, his numbers don't stand out too much. You also have to acknowledge that he played in the rain.

Your right the running backs were better then Mannning but Manning is Manning and everyone wanted him to win .If the Colts didn't have them they wouldn't have one because they gave Manning an outlet when he was going to get hit. Also the bears tried to do the same thing but there backs couldn't do it.So Addia or Rhodes should have one

Peyton Manning = offensive coordinator. The play-calling was spectacular, Manning made no big mistakes, ergo he gets MVP.
