CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater. These are two of the main pollutants humans put into the atmosphere in excess, and they are two of the primary greenhouse gases.

Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950 after a fairly stable climate for 1000 years. In fact, the 10 hottest years in recorded history have all happened since 1990, with 2005 being the hottest.
(see links below)

How's that for proof of man's fault in this? There is ample proof, any real scientist will tell you that.

There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.

Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.

Just to be clear, glacial and interglacial cycles are mainly controlled by astronomical fluctuations, but we have a detailed record of the last 7 cycles, and what the climate and CO2 is doing now is way different and extreme. The rate of increase is much higher than in the past AND the value itself is much higher.

I suggest you read Micheal Crichtons book "State of Fear" and discover the contradictions within the Global Warming camp. It is an excellent read, written by a scientist who has researched and quoted many scientific journals and papers not a pseudo science vid presented by an ex politician.

Saying that every single person in the world should remember that we have just the one planet and without it we are all history. If we all take more personal responsibility for our actions Mother Earth will adapt and adjust. She's been doing it for 4.6 billion years and CO2 levels have been much higher in the past than today, as have temperatures.

The current media fixation on Global Warming, Global Climate Change whatever you call it is merely another way of population control. It is interesting to note that before 1989 we heard virtually nothing about it then all of a sudden it became the news topic. Why? The Berlin Wall came down and the Cold War ended, communism was no longer a threat to the West and governments needed something to keep us proles from revolting.

Q. Why characterise Al Gore as a failed politician not a scientist?
A. So you can rubbish his opinions and ignore the global warming trend.

I look at it like this: how many internationally rated football referees are ex-football premiership level players? I don't know of any. While errors are made no-one rubbishes referees on the basis that they are not and never have been professional level footballers.

You and I can recognise a blatant foul and know it is not a legal move, so too with scientific facts except only that the educational and intellectual requirements for full understanding are somewhat more rigorous. Note I am not talking about paper qualifications I am talking about knowledge and understanding.

While agreeing with the necessity for sustainable living, to some extent I welcome global warming because its effects will force politicians to recognise the futility and iniquity of artificial third world political borders mostly imposed historically by colonising powers.

Nope and non caring. Why? Because we are not united to solve the Global Warming problems. All I see is table talking at 100% only yet action is 0% so why should I wasting on this problem.

I will give 100% support when everyone is ready to commit. Talking I also know. Well? Even my government also did not make any noise about Global Warming except at UN table or G7 summit or world leader meeting only. lol....

Oh yes, if we do really care, u and me will not be wasting time at Yahoo Q & A already. hehe... Apology for being harsh but it's truth of life.

Updates:
Why politic? because all relevant resources are controlled by Government and they are some of the examples:
1.Oil - Shut down the oil plant shall we?
2. Electricity - Shut down the power station, shall we?
3. Consumer product - Stop produce PC and Home product such as PC, TV shall we? we use old method No TV, we watch live play by people. No PC, we use slow mail shall we? No video game, we play stone game, shall we? and the list on goes.
4. Cars & Vehicle - Shut down all vehicle manufacturer, we go back with horses and carriage, shall we?
5. Jet & ship - No jet flying around, shall we? Ship yes - because ship can carry more people than aeroplane x 3 or 4 times of the capacity, shall we ship around the world?
6. Construction - No more infrastructure construction, shall we? because plywood, rebars, concrete and other raw materials used a lot to build one damn high rise building because lesser tree and other minerals rock for the green environments.
7. Gas - Shall we use fire and fire stocks for our cooking instead of natural gas?
8. Light bulbs - We use candles now, can we or can we not?
9. too lazy to list.

Tell me now, does any of the example belong to our control?
And if the politician chop those usages, didn't the problem is solved and one for all and all for one?
Well? I speak the truth rather than having speaking beautiful lies to console ourselves.

The global warming problem is the same as smoking cigrette.
Take for an example. Funny isn't it? Don't you think? lol! My government can ban bubble gum at once for the good of cleaning environment and the problem is solved. Consumer like me, unable to use and dirty the environment already. The environment is well maintained and nice too.

So Why can't alcohol, wine and cigrette be banned totally when these item hurt people health? If these facts accelerated by human beings around the globe beside the earth is changing.

Why can't we stop it at all?

I AM !! im doing as much as i can possibly do at home and in everyday life to minimise my effect on the enviroment - i nag on to friends who dont recycle and use the car for short journeys as well - i havent seen the film yet - but i plan too and also show it to friends and family, as this is one big issue that is irreversable - There was a doc on the tv last week about global warming, the BBC did a huge computer experiment where by they used our pc's to calulate info by downloading a programme. shocking truth is that global warming and wildlife etc have been shockingly underestimated and in the last 2 years the global warming effects are 21% worse than predicted - Frightening. if it doesnt affect us much now - then it will our children and their children within this centuary. where i live could be completely underwater within 80 years - and we are already experiencing adverse weather in the flatlands of cambridge - mini tornado's, and the 100 foot bank (river) flooding across 5 miles and 30 miles long cutting of villages and all sorts. HOWEVER the govt has piled in millions of pounds into this area and we are now proud to have hundreds of windfarms, supplying energy to local villages and schools, even the Whitemoor high security prison has its own windturbine (like telly tubby land) to supply its electricity.

you cant just say its not your problem if no one else is bothered - 'THATMY' because this is what causes problems and never solves anything.

First, let's get some facts straight. Right now the Earth is in a period of "Global Cooling". The Earth has been typically warmer than it was during the onset of glaciation during the Pleistocene (Ice Ages). Some geoscientists consider the Earth to still be in the Ice Ages, since there isn't evidence of ice on the Earth during its history, even at the polar regions. Second, yes, the Earth is warming at present. Furthermore, it has been warming for the past 11,000 years, since the end of the Wisconsonian Stage of the Pleistocene. At that time there was two to three miles of ice over Wisconsin, and it has receeded to where we find it today due to the Earth going back to its "normal" temperature. To be sure, the effects of mankind putting large amounts of "Greenhouse Gases", such as water vapor, into the atmosphere has accelerated this process, but the process has been going on for longer than mankind has had a recorded language (about 6000 years now). The time since the advent of continental glaciation, i. e. the start of the Pleistocene Epoch, is 1.6 million years ago. To put this into perspective, if the entire history of the Earth was put into one year, the Pleistocene began just before 9:00 PM on New Year's Eve and ended just before 11:59. I am sure the Earth will survive this minor "blip"..

NO! and don't give a stuff about it, only that politicians are using it as the next 'threat' to extort hard earned cash out of my pocket.
I want global warming... maybe it will drown out all the theiving politicians and do-gooder environmentalists, and I am doing my bit to see it increase.
If you believe the propoganda, then Darwin was right, you do deserve to become extinct.... sooner the better

I care because I'm afraid of it. It may do many harm to people or any living thing that exists on earth. And it has been reported that if global warming continues/occur, one country would be erased from the world.

I care about global warming, partially because I live near the sea and it is predicted within 10 years time my house will be under the sea due to rising sea levels if global warming continues.

But still, I think that it is an issue which we should be concerned about as it is going to affect everyone, as it is going to make quite a lot of the world uninhabitable to due too hot weather conditions or flooding.

well yes of course its home we are " supposeatly "damaging however i think different i think that it is not just our fault that the planet is in termoil it has happened for thousends/million of years.

this because the earth does not orbit the sun in a set position and not in a curcle over thousends of years we tilt away from the sun = to get alot colder creating a ice age and when we go the other way ( tilt towards) we warm up creating a desert climate.or what we could call a global warming period all us humans are doing is accerlarting the heating phase

however the enevitable is going to happen could be within 50 years but it could be 100, 1000,10000,or even 100000 years from now but it will happen and we will cool and receed to an ice age and then get warmer and coler in a cycle.

ok yes humans need to cut back on CO2 and greenhouse gases but this again is argeable because millions of years ago there was a lot of volcanic activity which emits CO2 and greenhouse gases and the globe recovered. the question really needs to asked is d you beleive you could stop this from happening well unless you have a way of changing the earths tilt from what it is now to what it was 100 years ago.
