Im currently living in Sweden and am thinking about changing my career and studying to be a fireman. Our long term plan though is to move to Australia in around 6 years so before i comitt myself i would like to know if a Swedish firemans education would be valid in Australia. I would be very greatful if someone could give me any info on this matter.

I know Western Australia is fairly rigid, but not impossible. Do your homework BEFORE you move. Have your certifications at hand and ask if someone can review them for you. Good Luck.USA.

It should. its just the matter of getting hired and passing the required exams to get hired by a new fire department.
