Yes. In general, the cost for food are mostly much cheaper in Spore, then in Hong Kong.
Although S'pore do not produce their own food source locally, but b'cos of d standard of living, & d infrastructure of their food supply, etc... It's still much easy to enjoy a "low-cost" but good meals.
That's why its very common to see many S'porean hving their daily 3 meals in any F&B establishments.

Food in Singapore is cheap but in Hong Kong is expensive to the Singaporean. However, food in Singapore and Hong Kong is affordable to the Hong Konger. This is because of their higher living standards and higher salary as compare to Singapore.

The food is cheap in Asia, but it depends where you are going to buy them. For grocery the traditional market is cheaper, but you have to know which stand to buy from. For restaurant, you have to know where to go, there are little restaurant/stand everywhere. And you got to know your limit :) Bring some Tums along the way. Hong Kong, the live fish is weight by grams, before it was cleaned. It is your choice, ask local where to eat

There are variables around. The cheapest eats will be at the market places, while the most expensive will be in one of the swanky restaurants in town. So you can find food cheap like in Hong Kong.
Depends on where you want to eat.

Depending on what you want and where you go. Local HK food is very cheap in if you eat in HK famous roadside stall (cantonese "Dai Pai Tong") which is very local. If you eat in establish places like foodcourt , its no differences from Singapore but some are more expensive than Singapore. The seafood here in HK is much more expensive than in Singapore.

You can spend 2 dollars for breakfast, 5 dollars for lunch and dinner. Total if you have 12 dollars you can get the basic food for one person and will survive the journey.
If you want to lavish you can spend up to couple of thousand dollars in one day.
