Ohiopyle park is located on Route 381 in Fayette County, Pa. it is along the Youghigheny River and has a series of small waterfalls and rapids that are famous for whitewater rafting, a tiny town that has annual buckwheat pancake festivals, walking and hiking trails and camping and picnic areas. It has increased in size over the years by the state park system purchasing the homesteads surrounding the original park. As a teen we used to go to and area called the water slide, naturally formed by the smooth rock that you can ride for a good distance. There is a bike and hike path that passes through that was built on the site of old railroad tracks that have been removed . There are rentals in the small town to stay in if camping isn't your thing. It's surrounded by many other beautiful places to see in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. Come visit!
