I heard that the story which says that N. Armstrong and others did not go to the Moon, but to a movie trailer... studio, only to show to the Russian that they were in advance ...

have you heard of this "theory"?

There was a trembling flag and the voice was delayed... what do you say about that?

The astronauts were moving the flag into position, causing motion. Since there is no air on the Moon to provide friction, these movements caused a long-lasting undulating movement seen in the flag. There was a rod extending from the top of the flagpole to hold the flag out for proper display. The fabric's rippled appearance was due to its having been folded during flight and gave it an appearance which could be mistaken for motion in a still photograph. The top supporting rod of the flag was telescopic and the crew of Apollo 11 found they could not fully extend it. Later crews did not fully extend this rod because they liked how it made the flag appear. A viewing of the videotape made during the Moonwalk shows that shortly after the astronauts remove their hands from the flag/flagpole, it stops moving and remains motionless. At one point the flag is in view for well over thirty minutes and it remains completely motionless throughout that period.

The lack of a more than two-second delay in two-way communications at a distance of a 250,000 miles (400,000 km)?

The round trip light travel time of more than two seconds is apparent in all the real-time recordings of the lunar audio, but this does not always appear as expected. There may be some documentary films where the delay has been edited out. Principal motivations for editing the audio would likely come in response to time constraints or in the interest of clarity.

The speed of light is exactly 299,792,458 metres per second (1,079,252,848.8 km/h). The average distance of the earth to the moon is 384,399 kilometres. So there would obviously be a delay.

I can see these theories going on forever. The Americans will go back in the next decade and return with more evidence and I'm sure there will be more hoax conspiracists coming up with more "evidence". It's all very pathetic. *sigh*

Buzz Aldrin, who walked on the moon with Armstrong, decked a guy who pronounced that concept. We degree the moon's distance via shining lasers on the moon - to mirrors that we positioned there. If people decide on to have self assurance that no man or woman's been to the moon, I both decide on them to take their meds, or purchase the bridge i have were given for sale.

I was a teenager at the time of the Moon landings, which happened in 1969, 1971 and 1972. There were none in 1964. I can assure you it was very real. You might not know it today, but at the time it was bigger news than the super bowl. WAY bigger news. It would be easier to fake the super bowl than the Moon landings.

i have heard this. the flag will wave as in the footage Neil or was it buzz was holding the flag pole. in space and in a cumbersome space suit its gonna be hard to hold the pole without shaking the flag cloth. in a vacuum the cloth will tremble like this look at the way it flutters in space its like a sheet of chainmail does here. for cloth to act like this it would have to be in a vacuum. and wouldn't do this in a studio.

someone also said why bother with the most elaborate and difficult hoax ever. wouldn't it be easier to build a rocket and go to the moon?

I say that all these doubters should just go get a six pack and get drunk some night and forget about it.

Yes I think they really went there and I am proud to have witnessed the events on TV.
