The song is in the key of D
<> The guitar of alice in chains is tune a half tone below (in Db)
So if you try to play over the record in D it will be WRONG.

If you want to play it with some Friends who play in the key of D.
You will have to do

for the first part : major pentatonic scale of C on a G harp.
for the second part : blues scale of A on a D harp.

*****************
What's happening in the real record :
In the first part a Gb Harmonica is used
it's a simple melody using the major pentatonic scale of B
(pentatonic scale of B on Gb Harp, is like G pentatonic on C Harp)

In the Second Part a Db Harmonica is used
It's some riffs using the Ab blues scale, (mostly descending the scale)
(blues scale of Ab on a Db Harp, is like G blues on a C Harp)
