im in my 2nd sem. in college Im thinking really hard about switching from early childhood education to criminal justice....

Think carefully about what you like, what kind of people you might like to work with, children and criminals are very different! Having been a probation officer I would not recomment that sort of work in the UK at the moment as too many problems and frustrations and the money is not good. Working with children can be rewarding but not for everyone. I opted for social work in the end as felt it offered me plenty of opportunities such as working with children, adults, leaving care kids, disabilities, adoption, etc, the list goes on and on and there is plenty of scope for development and promotion.

Talk to a careers adviser and make sure that you go for something that you like and can relate to rather than something that will make you rich. Happiness is worth more than money!

I'm in college for Mid-Level Ed. My passion is children and I love English. I took a break from college for awhile to spend more time with my son and husband but I'm almost done this time around. You have time to think about it if your only in your second semester. What can you see yourself doing happily in 10 years....
