As an avid Houston Rockets fan, nobody was more pleased to see Stevie French Fries leave Houston. Even if Francis comes back from his knee injury, he will be the odd man out in a Knicks lineup full of guards (Crawford, Marbury, Robinson, Richardson), If he wants a career resurrection, he should ask N.Y to possibly buy out his contract so he can sign a 1 year deal with another team. It will be hard to find a team though, because point guards are a dime a dozen. He could take a shot and sign with the Grizz, the team who drafted and traded him because of his whining ways.
The problem with Francis is the fact that he is, without a shadow of a doubt, a shoot first point guard, who, in essence, can't really shoot. He proved that in Houston. His shoot first mentality stumped the development of Yao Ming offensively because Francis would never give him the ball. Wherever he goes, there must be plenty of shots left for him to take, or he will ruin team chemistry. Francis skill-wise is, at best, a sixth man now.

yeah the franchise still has potential, may be not to play like 5 years ago with teh rockets. But its only his 7 year in the league. If he train harder he would probably be still a great athlete, better than marbury. I think he can average over 15 points and 7 assists easily if he can be a starter for another team. He used to be a highflyer, he was able to pull of a fancy dunk almost everygame he played like dwade, but now he lost his hops.

Steve Francis is nothing right now. He's useless in the Knicks uniform. When he was in Houston he was unbelivable and maybe in Orlando. But, when he went to the Knicks he could not have overtaken Starbury for the point guard position

Even if he does recover I think his career is over anyway. He has never lived up to that nickname and he has always underachieved. He's not getting any younger and I don't think teams look at him as someone who could help them win.

i think he just has to adjust his game. He's not as athletic as he used to be. He still could be a very good player, if he can start hitting his jumpshot.
