Am afraid i don't know much about the coil but thought I'd answer as I don't think the first two answers are what you are asking for...
If you are right and the IUD does allow for fertilisation but doesn;'t lead to pregnancy then I would not go for it at all.. 1. because I would feel that I was actually creating life and taking it away just as fast and 2. because I would feel that is it is also using all my eggs.
I would much rather stick with the pill which states that it aims to stop eggs being produced so that there is minimal chance of life being created and taken away at the same time.
A system like what you are describing would remind me a lot of abortion and, although I am not against abotion, I personally do not want to go through anything like that..

What does abortion have to do with birth control? Really nothing. The IUD (esp. the copper kind) make the womb inhospitable to sperm so an egg never gets fertilized in the first place. In a very, very rare instance this could happen but that is like 2% so very unlikely. An IUD is a great form of birth control. Even better than pills.

Where in the world did you hear of this? Its just not true.
The chances of getting preg. with an IUD are Rare indeed! I have never heard of anyone having a 'IUD coil pregnancy' and if something like that did happen - the pregnancy would not be able to be maintained.

Are you talking about getting pregnant with an IUD? If so, I think I know what your talking about. It's called a ectopic pregnany. I have an IUD and the doctore said they are more common, but they are dangerous. You will have to have a some kind of medicine to dissolve the egg, or even more serious surgery. I hope this website helps...

IUDs provide contraception by various mechanisms but do not necessarily prevent fertilisation. They are spermicidal (copper), and ovicidal, and inflammatory mechanisms.
Undoubtedly their presence in the womb (post fertilisation) adds to their effectiveness as contraceptives.
The most dogmatic pro-life groups consider IUDs as abortifacants.
(progesterone containing IUDs are however different)

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant here https://tr.im/Zh3J6
after sex-put a pillow under your butt or prop your feet up on the wall so your pelvis is tilted
eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.

if it happened naturally, your body expels it, it is only an abortion if done medically by a dr, if you need more advice speak to your gp, he will be happy to put your mind at rest, you need to be happy with your contraceptive choice
