I myself live in a fairly rural community on a mountain and due to being a volunteer fire fighter and now having a job that generally stops for bad weather I need four wheel or all wheel drive,I got four wheel drive on my truck. Now I dont have any children yet but I am trying to start a family so I got a vehicle with four doors and I tow and haul dog, deer and horse feed and pull a horse trailer and a car trailer so a SUV or van was out of question for me. I have a 05 Ford F250 Super Duty with a Crew Cab and Long Bed I work on cars on the side and wanted a reliable engine that would last 300K or more so I got a 5.4 Triton and I average 18Mpg daily driving I love this truck and I'm a huge Ford fan my wife has a Toyota Tundra and we both agree is a great vehicle as well only hers is a half ton and mine is a three quarter ton truck.

That depend's on where you are and also how you drive
I have 1993 Jeep Grande Cherokee with a 4.0 6cyl
I get about 21mpg on the hwy and about 16 to 17 in town
Which is great for a fuul time 4 wheel drive, I've had Chevy's before and think they are great,But i sure love my Jeep,Thier worth looking into
Good Luck
P.S it has 4 door's and more than enough room

I would have to say a four door explorer. My mom has one and we are a family of four and it has been the best car ever!

The Toyota Highlander V6 is pretty big, good on gas, somewhat fast, and handles like a car. It's also a great price if you don't go crazy on options.
