this is a question that many people think about, including myself. i have concluded that the world will end when we die and go before our Creator to answer and/or give account of our lives.

The elements will melt in a fervent heat. That will be at least 1007 years from now: first the rapture, then the 7-year Tribulation, then the 2nd Coming, then the Millenium (1000-year reign of Christ on earth).
But it can get pretty bad in the meantime. We should take care of this earth!
