It's dissapointing, why is Bumblebee gonna be a Camaro in the movie instead of a Beetle Volkswagen, & why is Megatron gonna be a Alien Jet?, & he looks way too much different, as if it wasn't him, he looks like a figure with pieces of glass glued to him, oh well, at least Optimus Prime resembles a bit of the original, toy, cartoon version.

to answer your two questions first it was to update the movie, they really couldn't see the relative size change for Megatron to turn into a gun that could be held by another transformer. plus the reason for bumblebee is they stated that the beetle was so 1980's (read in a mag can't remember which one). personally i think they should have made Megatron into Galvatron and made him a bad a$$ tank like they had him.
but in the fight bumblebee he really can't be hit the easiest.

There are a few possible reasons that Bumblebee is a Camaro and not a Volkswagen.

(1) Volkswagen flat-out refused to part-take in the movie.

(2) Volkswagen doesn't want their Beetle to be in the movie because it depicts war. Volkswagen's is from Germany. During the Nazis-era, the company received benefits and money from the Nazis because the autos were mainly used by them. So the company doesn't want their car to be in the movie because they don't want to depict the the Nazis days.

(3) This is from my theory and I think it's partial true. The movie are signed with American auto manufactures. If you look at this way: All of the Autobots are based on American cars: Optimus Prime - Peterbilt truck; Ironhide - GMC pickup; Jazz - Pontiac Solstice; Ratchet - Hummer; and Bumblebee - Chevy Camaro. Let's not forget the Decepticons too: Starscream - F-22 Raptor; Barricade - Ford Mustang; Blackout - MH-53 Pave Low; M1 Abrams; and Bonecrusher - Buffalo H. The only exceptions are Megatron and Scorponok.

Now, as of why Megatron is a Alien plane: It's because the writers wanted too. There's an article somewhere that they stated that. Wikipedia also stated from a source: "it’s like Darth Vader turning into his own lightsaber and having someone else swing him around." Besides, Megatron was an Alien jet in the cartoon: Transformers Energon.

The reasons, OTHER than Michael Bay is insane!!!

Well, the reason Bumblebee is a Camaro is due to the fact that Volkswagen has made it a company policy that none of their vehicles can be used in or as 'war toys'. And Transformers does rank as a war toy. If you look the current series of toys, Transformers Classics, has Bumblebee as what looks like a Subaru Hatchback or something like that.

Megatron is an alien jet because due to Congressional law, no toys can be made to look like real hand-guns. That is why all Megatrons since the Generation 2 series have been tanks and dinosaurs and jets... In the movie's storyline, Megatron is too proud to lower himself to assume an Earth form.

Man that sucks. I was looking forward to seeing the him as the giant gun, or at least as Galvatron (I believe that was his name in the movie when he was changed).

I agree with you, they should've done it based on the original characters.
