It does and it doesn't. You don't have the self conciousness of youth or the under confidence and you have learnt from experience to the extent that you are either wiser or more cynical - either way it hurts less. As a young woman I wouldn't have been seen dead without make-up etc but now (because nobody notices me) a bit of lipstick will do.
On he other hand, you get rheumatism and arthritis etc and you long for the days when you were fit.
I suppose that, in general, all ages have their good and bad side and it basically depends on how well you accept changes.

In terms of acceptance of your past experiences, growth from it all having no regrets and looking to the future with hope that makes it seem easier, obviously you will be wiser but you also slow down your rush of achievements and live life a bit more leisurely

You can make life easier in middle and old age by sensible financial planning, and keeping up good health and exercise. In other words, be wise now, and reap the benefits later.
Like Grandad used to say, "Put money aside for that rainy day!" It's true, start that private pension as soon as you can, with some put aside for treats. If it means scrimping a bit, then OK, it will feel like 'life's hurting', but you will smile in the end! Now's the time to do it. Not when your body just doesn't feel like moving!

You know the saying, Ignorance is bliss. Wiser, opens up more doors, so the more you know, you will realize it never gets easier, life is a test and when you get older the test get harder. But, good luck with your life.

Hi Reindeer,
I think "Both"
Harder on those of us, that have gotten older, simply because you have so few responsibilities.. when you are young... All fun, no mortgage, no big bills, no kids to feed, no taxes to file... Big deal. Go to school, party, go home... Cry around to friends about problems like, "Does he like me?".... ;D
>>>>>>>>>>>>
Easier in the tech area... Less angst, more knowledge, experience, life experiences : travels, sex, finally got to move out.. and stay up all night drinking wine, eating Cheetos and watching movies, if you want.... Have WAY more guts and confidence now... But not the body, time or freedom from responsibility to back it up... ;)
>>>>>>
~Sigh~ ..If I only knew then what I know now... ;D
>>>>>
I am not old, but this is my point of view, about the subject...
learned a lot, from when i was a child.. until "now" .. ;)
Thanks, for the question!
My regards!
Enjoy life.... learn.... grow... ;D
Take care!

I have found that life doesn't necessarily get "easier" - just new problems that you have to find a new way to handle. We do (hopefully) take into account those things that we now know, which probably helps us deal with these new issues.

Not really. You understand things more and a lot of times situations, such as politics, seem hopeless. Not to mention you do a lot of reflecting on parts of your life you could change. But the best advice my dad ever had was "If I could go back knowing what I know now, I'd miss out on a lot of fun".

It goes in both directions.
It gets "easier" in the sense that after several decades of interacting with society, one hopefully develops a "data base" of experience; dealing with people of varying personalities becomes "easier."
It gets more difficult in the sense that one develops less tolerance and patience with certain personalities - those that are habitually late, or disorganized, or unreliable, or just intentionally obtuse.

I would like to say, "Patience's is a virtual"!
But now a days who has the Patience's.
With scarcities (misspelled?), the newer generation, some many changes in our everyday world!
Sometimes you think," There is a light to the end of this tunnel, but oh no they change the program!"
Well I would have to say in my honest opinion NO!
Like Forest Grump said," Momma always said," Life is like a box of chocolates. Ya never know what your going to get to you open it!"
And like my mom said to me, "We are all going to hell in a hen basket!"
That is the million dollar question- If only we knew.
Take care

Sort of. You get better at dealing with problems as you become more experienced and you get to know yourself. Unfortunately the amount of responsibility (family, pets, mortgage, loans, cars, conservatories) in your life invariably increases in proportion to this wisdom.
Always remember, you get what you give, be careful and strive to be happy.
Alternatively, join a monastery. Less is more.
Good luck!
