Hiya
I read about this abit back... it's something to do with opening your mouth stretching the face and pulling it down and being able to get into the inner bottom lashes without catching the skin..
Not all women do... but most do.. for the bottom lashes tho...

That is a very interesting question, and I think the reason is that when you tilt your chin towards your chest to put the mascara on to the bottom lashes, it slightly affects your breathing, especially if you have a cold and so you end up opening your mouth a bit so that you can breath easier and not die before you get the bottom set done!
But I can't explain why other people stick their tongue out whilst concentrating.....???

Interesting question though and very true. Women do open their mouths to put mascara on.

I love this question. I used to put it on with my mouth closed when I first started wearing makeup. Now, no matter how hard I try, I just can't do it. I have to have my mouth open. I don't know. It doesn't make sense.

I don't get this at all!! Everytime I put mascara on I open my mouth without realising it. It doesn't make a difference to your eyes!

Not all women open their mouths!! I can manage it with my mouth closed and by tilting my head slightly. But I do need a mirror and I can't understand why some girls don't.

It helps to widen the eyes, making it easier to put on mascara without messing up.

I do it with my mouth closed to get the effect i want. Not every woman does open thier mouth when they do it.

i open my mouth , cause it feels like your lifting your eye up more which helps the mascara go on right makes your eye look wider.
