This is from Ramussen Reports, this along with Zogby are the two polls that politicians look at for nonpartisan accuracy.

Rassmussen is the only 1 that called the 04 election accurately.

I'm sure they are already trying their worst.

Second terms for sitting Presidents have historically been harder than the first term. But I think that in Bush's case, it's a combination of several factors, all happening within his second term: 1. His failure to reform Social Security and Medicare to anyone's satisfaction. 2. The trouble he had when he nominated Harriet Meiers for the Supreme Court. 3. His involvement in the Terri Schiavo case, as well as the involvement of his brother, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and the involvement of just about every right-wing conservative in Congress. 4. Hurricane Katrina and the government's response, or lack of response, depending on how you look at it, to the aftermath, from which people are still recovering. 5. The recent spate of scandals involving top Republicans. 6. The fact that the Iraq war has no forseeable end in sight combined with the President's refusal to make any kind of real change in strategy, even going so far as to admit that he won't be the one who will able to solve this and handing it off to the next President on more than one occasion.

CBS will open the story with the lead: "Bush Approval Rating Fails To Hit 45"

Its kinda of insulting to think that the American Public doesn't have a brain of its own and purely depends on the media for its opinions. Bush is rating high or low depends on one circumstance and that is his own decision making. So don't blame the media for the Presidents dumb choices. I know its hard being loyal like the way you are but it is what it is. No one is tricking the American Public. We are smarted than that.

That's good. I knew it would. Approval ratings increase and decrease throughout a presidential term. Nothing new on this part. Once his plan in Iraq starts working, his approval rates will start increasing even more and the Democrats will probably flip flop once again.

I'm not sure which poll you're referring to. The most recent one I've seen, released by Gallup this week, has him at 32%. If you're looking at another one please let us know.

I never look at individual polls anyway. I look at a variety of them to see trends. Bush has consistently been in the mid 30's for several months.

Oh yeah. This will not sit well with the out-of-the-mainstream press. Watch closely for a story, yet another one, that will portray the administration in a bad light.

Awww...you must have gotten that stat off Fox News.

EDIT: Well, thanks for giving a link...that does add more weight to your statement.

However, Bush has changed his rhetoric a bit, a little more to the left...so perhaps that explains it.

It still doesn't mean he is doing a good job, he destabalized the middle east even more by his war in Iraq and taking out of power one of the only secular leaders in that region....so, the implications of his failure will be felt for a long time to come. You are young like me, so you will have to live through it...you will see....

I would be very surprised if they actually reported it, especially with the same enthusiasm that they report the low numbers.
Stay tuned.
